Ukroboronprom, Czech AMOS sign agreement on joint defense cluster

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - The Ukroboronprom state company and the Czech Defense Ministry's Intergovernmental Defense Cooperation Agency (AMOS) have signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint defense cluster, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to the company's press service.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala reached the respective agreement last week, the media said.

"The establishment of a defense cluster envisages production of military hardware, scaled-up production of ammunition of various calibers [both at the existent plants and at new plants built in safe areas), the development of hubs to service and repair weapons and military hardware, and high-tech cooperation, including the opening of joint research centers," Ukroboronprom said in a statement on its website.

Leading Ukrainian and Czech defense enterprises and international financial donors will help implement the project.
