Ukrainian FM announces plans to open embassy in Manila

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba announced Kiev's plans to open its embassy in Manila at a meeting with Foreign Minister of the Philippines Enrique Manalo.

"I met with Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Enrique Manalo to inform him that Ukraine is going to open an embassy in Manila to strengthen ties with the Philippines and Asia. We discussed ways to develop political contacts and trade, ensure global food security," Ukrainian media quoted Kuleba as saying.

As reported, Kuleba is visiting Phnom Penh on November 10-12 at the invitation of Cambodia's Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, who chairs the Association of Southeast Asian Nations this year. ASEAN comprises ten countries: Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysian, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines.
