MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - The Russian government will allot 1.1 billion rubles to the Defense Ministry for reconstructing the Peter I fort in St. Petersburg.

"The government is continuing to develop tourist infrastructure in Russia, so 1.1 billion rubles have been allotted from the government reserve fund for the reconstruction of the Peter I fort in Kronstadt. The order has been signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin," says a statement on the government website.

The Peter I fort is a federal cultural heritage site built in the 18th-19th centuries, it is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Once the reconstruction is over, the fort will open to tourists and local residents, the statement said.
