MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba met with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and agreed with him on specific steps to enhance cooperation between Ukraine and ASEAN in trade, digital transformation, agriculture and stepping up the political dialogue and mutual support.

The parties will hold a number of political contacts and events: a presentation of investment capabilities of Ukraine and ASEAN, a business forum to establish direct business contacts, as well as the sharing of experience in the use of the Ukrainian digital platform NAZOVNI and the Asian Access system, the Ukrainian media reported on Thursday, citing the Foreign Ministry press service.

"Ukraine and ASEAN are linked by traditional ties of friendship and mutual respect. Our country's accession to the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Southeast Asia will create new political, economic and cultural opportunities for our countries, businesses and citizens," Kuleba said.

The Ukrainian foreign minister emphasized that the intensification of Ukraine's cooperation with the ASEAN region, which is a powerful political and economic association of the ten Southeast Asian countries, is part of the Asian strategy elaborated by the ministry.

As reported, Kuleba is visiting Phnom Penh on November 10-12 at the invitation of his Cambodian counterpart Prak Sokhonn, who chairs ASEAN this year. ASEAN unites ten countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
