The regional administration confirmed to journalists that the report on Stremousov's death was true.

"Indeed, I can confirm that Kirill was in a car crash. I haven't yet received reports on his death from medics. An ambulance rushed to the accident site," he said.

Acting Kherson Governor Vladimir Saldo said on Telegram that support would be provided to Stremousov's family. "He was the father of five children, and a sixth child is expected to be born soon. Certainly, we will take care of them all, but unfortunately, this can't bring back Kirill," he said.

Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev offered his condolences on Stremousov's death.

"I have just learned about Kirill Stremousov's death. I personally met him just recently. He was a true patriot of Russia, brave and courageous, he remained in touch in any situation and considered it his duty to inform the Kherson region's residents of the ongoing events. The same was this morning. This is an irreparable loss," Razvozhayev wrote on Telegram.

Stremousov became deputy head of the Kherson region after Russian forces took it under control.
