BelNPP's first power unit reconnected to power grid after six-month break - Belarusian Energy Ministry

MINSK. Nov 9 (Interfax) - The first power unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) that was disconnected from the power grid on April 25 for scheduled preventative maintenance was reconnected to the Belarusian grid on November 9, the country's Energy Ministry said in a statement.

"On November 9, at 12.33 p.m., the first power unit of the BelNPP was hooked up to the grid following completion of the scheduled maintenance and additional tests. A phased increase in capacity is underway, and it is currently at 400 MW," the Energy Ministry's press service said.

The power unit will be operated at various capacity levels in the short term as per the test program, according to the statement.
