Ukrenergo plans Ukraine-wide scheduled blackouts on Nov 9

MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - The Dispatch Center of Ukrenergo, the operator of Ukraine's high-voltage transmission lines, has said that scheduled hourly blackouts will take place on Wednesday, November 9.

"Scheduled hourly blackouts will take place all over Ukraine on November 9. Emergency blackouts are not being planned for now," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Ukrenergo as saying on social media early on Wednesday morning.

Stabilizing electricity curbs are expected in Kiev and the Kiev, Chernigov, Cherkassy, Zhitomir, Sumy, Kharkov, Poltava, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, and Kirovograd regions, the company said.

Electricity-saving measures, especially during peak hours, i.e. from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., remain extremely relevant, Ukrenergo said.

As reported, scheduled hourly blackouts affected more than 900,000 consumers in Kiev on Tuesday. Emergency blackouts were not introduced.
