Ukraine's National Bank to move from survival strategy to strengthening strategy in 2023

MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) plans to transition the banking sector from a strategy of survival to one of strengthening in 2023, NBU governor Andrei Pyshny said.

"The strategic priority is to already begin working today so as to transition in 2023 from a survival strategy to a strengthening strategy," Pyshny said at a briefing on Monday that was broadcast on YouTube.

He said "work will continue on developing a concept that should provide an assessment of the resilience of the financial sector, assess the quality of assets, provide the parameters of future stress testing and which should determine the horizons and scale of future recapitalization."

This will make it possible to ensure a resilient, working financial system, Pyshny said.
