Ukraine again raises question of NATO membership

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina last week met with a group of permanent representatives of NATO member states at the organization's headquarters, who visited Ukraine.

"The parties discussed Ukraine's primary needs and Ukraine's application for NATO membership. The meeting participants attached special significance to the planning of assistance for Ukraine, particularly through the Comprehensive Assistance Package, and its financing through the NATO Trust Fund," Ukrainian media reported citing a statement by Stefanishina's press service following the meeting.

"It is important for the alliance to continue maintaining its open door policy," Stefanishina said.

The delegation of permanent representatives to NATO visiting Ukraine included Visho Ajazi Lika of Albania, Zlatin Krastev of Bulgaria, Juri Luik of Estonia, Skuja Edgars of Latvia, Deividas Matulionis of Lithuania, Tomasz Szatkowski of Poland, Peter Bator of Slovakia, Dane Taleski of North Macedonia, Dan Neculaescu of Romania, and Jakub Landovsky of the Czech Republic.
