Microsoft to provide $100 mln in technological assistance to Ukraine

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Microsoft will provide Ukrainian critical infrastructure and other sectors of state importance with $100 million in technological assistance by the end of 2023, Microsoft Vice President Brad Smith said at a meeting with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov last week.

"Thanks to technological assistance, state institutions, critical infrastructure and other sectors in Ukraine will continue to use the digital infrastructure and operate in the Microsoft cloud for free. The company will also help supervise and implement Ukraine's digital sectors, such as the cyber [sector], judiciary, customs, healthcare and education," the Ministry of Digital Transformation is quoted by the Ukrainian media as saying on social media.

Ukraine has received more than $400 million in assistance since the start of the crisis, Fedorov said. "Along with free services, Microsoft backs Ukraine in the cyber sphere and donates for humanitarian aid," he said.
