McDonald's reopens restaurants in Lvov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Vinnitsa, Kiev region
MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - Another three McDonald's restaurants reopened in Ukraine on Wednesday, the Ukrainian media said, citing the corporate press service.
One McDonald's restaurant reopened in Ivano-Frankovsk, in addition to two restaurants in Belaya Tserkov and Brovary in the Kiev region.
McDonald's began the gradual reopening of its restaurants in Ukraine on September 20. As of November 2, 39 McDonald's restaurants were open in Kiev and the Kiev region, and the total number stood at 46 across Ukraine.
McDonald's said Thursday that it has also opened a new restaurant in Lvov and reopened two others in Vinnitsa.
The new restaurant in Lvov has been opened in the city's largest residential area, Sykhov, the press release said. The two-story restaurant can serve 235 persons and has 155 seats in the dining hall and another 80 on the terrace. There are seven self-service terminals, most of which are two-sided. For motorists there is a McDrive service with two access lanes and a separate room for McDelivery couriers.
On November 1, two more outlets of the fast food chain reopened in Lvov. Seven McDonald's outlets are now operating in Lvov.
Besides, two McDonald's restaurants in Vinnitsa resumed their operations on Thursday, November 3.
As reported, on September 20, McDonald's began a phased opening of restaurants in Ukraine. As of November 3, the McDonald's chain in Ukraine has 51 restaurants.
The company plans to open two more outlets in Ukraine within the next two months, it said.
McDonald's restaurants closed in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, for security reasons. The company continued to pay salaries to over 10,000 employees. In addition, over 700 tonnes of foods worth of more than UAH70 million were donated from McDonald's warehouses and restaurants for humanitarian needs.
Together with Ronald McDonald House Charities, the company implemented humanitarian programs for Ukrainians. Ukrainian families received over 130,000 food packages, and 200 vacuum therapy units were supplied to healthcare establishments. The company received additional requests from clinics and is organizing the purchase of 200 vacuum aspirators.
McDonald's Ukraine Ltd. develops the national restaurant chain. The first restaurant opened in Kiev on May 24, 1997.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, MCD Europe Limited registered in London, the UK, holds 100% of the company stock.
