Julie Kozack, responsible at IMF for Ukraine, to become Fund's communications director

MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Julie Kozack, Deputy Director of the International Monetary Fund's European Department, will replace Gerry Rice as IMF Director of Strategic Communications.

Kozack currently oversees the IMF's work on Ukraine, the Fund said in a press release.

Gerry Rice's retirement from the Fund was announced on July 22, 2022.

Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director, said Kozack was known for her "solution-oriented approach and sound judgment."

Kozack had been Deputy Director in the IMF Western Hemisphere Department and lead negotiator for Argentina on its latest program. She had been mission chief for Germany, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland, and deputy mission chief for Russia.

Kozack, a United States national, holds a PhD as well as two master's degrees in economics from Columbia University, New York.
