Ukraine ramps up electricity imports from Slovakia

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Ukrainian electricity imports from Slovakia will total 300 megawatt-hours for the two days October 30 and November 1 combined, according to data from the ENTSO-E website.

According to the delivery schedule posted, 25 MW per hour were imported for the seven hours from 8:00 to 15:00 on October 30, and 25 MW per hour was booked for five hours from 10:00 to 15:00 on November 1.

According NPC Ukrenergo auction data, D.Trading LLC bought 25 MW of cross-border capacity from Slovakia for one and 15 MW per hour for five hours on October 30; and Nexttrade LLC bought 10 MW per hour for five hours that day.

D.Trading LLC bought 25 MW per hour for six hours on November 1.

Ukraine has started to pilot electricity supplies from Slovakia amid the energy crisis. Ukrainian traders D.Trading, EKU, and ERU Trading began booking varying cross-border capacity from Slovakia from October 16 and Nexttrade from October 30.

ERU Trading, controlled by Yaroslav Mudry and Dale Perry, booked 5 MW of electricity imports from Slovakia for all hours of the day on October 29 and actually supplied Ukraine with 5 MW per hour for three hours.

The state-owned Energy Company of Ukraine or EKU carried out its first trial supply of 1 MW of electricity from Ukraine on October 27. The ENTSO-E website also shows physical deliveries to Ukraine from Slovakia on October 16 when D.Trading booked 50 MW of capacity for four days.
