IAEA starts inspections at two nuclear sites in Ukraine

BERLIN. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The specialists of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have started inspections at two nuclear sites in Ukraine, the IAEA said late on Monday.

"[IAEA Director General Rafael] Grossi said IAEA safeguards inspectors had begun - and would soon complete - verification activities at two locations in Ukraine, following a request from the Ukrainian government. Later this week he will provide his initial conclusions from these activities," the IAEA said on Twitter.

Grossi said earlier in October that IAEA would soon begin an inspection of two nuclear sites in Ukraine.

In his turn, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said earlier that Russia had warned Grossi that a dirty bomb might be made outside the facilities the IAEA experts were planning to inspect.
