Ukraine, Czech Republic sign 2 memorandums - PM Shmygal

MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Ukraine and the Czech Republic have signed a memorandum on cooperation in standardization, metrology, and conformity evaluation, a memorandum of understanding between the two foreign ministries, and a joint statement of intergovernmental consultations, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

Speaking at a joint press briefing with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in Kiev on Monday, Shmygal said that, based on outcomes of their meeting, the parties signed three documents, namely a memorandum on cooperation in standardization, metrology, and conformity evaluation, a memorandum of understanding between the two foreign ministries, and a joint statement of intergovernmental consultations.

The parties also agreed on work of joint intergovernmental commissions in various sectors, particularly that on promoting industrial and scientific and technological cooperation.

Fiala said the Czech Republic intends to provide 20 million Czech crowns to Ukraine to purchase diesel generators for the Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
