Roscosmos says cooperation with NASA decreased in 2022

MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Roscosmos Deputy General Director, State Secretary Valery Sherin has reported a decrease in cooperation with NASA in 2022.

"The first ten months of this year, which are practically over, indicate that the scale of foreign orders for Roscosmos' goods and services has been on the decline, and cooperation with NASA has been decreasing. The share of government plans and orders is growing in terms of both state defense orders and civil goods," Sherin said at a roundtable with the theme, "Gosplan 2.0 as Mechanism of Economic Development Stimulation," at the Federation Council on Monday.

NASA ISS Program Manager Joel Montalbano said on October 4 that the agency had not reduced its staff in Russia despite recommendations to do so from the U.S. Department of State.

On July 2022, Roscosmos and NASA signed an agreement on the cross-flights of three Russian cosmonauts onboard U.S. Crew Dragon spaceships and three U.S. astronauts onboard Russian Soyuz MS spaceships within the International Space Station (ISS) program's framework in 2022-2024.
