Kazakh president, EU's Michel discuss impact of EU sanctions on Kazakh economy

ASTANA. Oct 27 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and European Council President Charles Michel have discussed the prevention of EU sanctions' impact on the Kazakh economy.

"Special attention was paid to the issue of avoiding unintended negative impact on Kazakhstan's economy of the European Union's sanctions," Tokayev and Michel said in a joint statement published on the Kazakh presidential website.

"President Michel reiterated that EU sanctions were not directed against third countries and highlighted the importance of international sanctions being neither evaded nor circumvented," the statement said.
