Russian govt to send funds to regions to raise healthcare workers' wages - Mishustin

MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax) - The government will provide an additional 59 billion rubles to the regions to increase the wages of healthcare personnel and doctors, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"According to the Economic Development Ministry's forecast, the average monthly wage in Russia will increase by more than 11.5% over a period of one year. In order for the wages of healthcare workers to grow at the same rate and to meet the level set by the president, the government will provide to the regions additional funding in an amount of almost 59 billion rubles," Mishustin said at a government meeting.

"It is important that our doctors and other personnel of hospitals and polyclinics get the money to which they are entitled in a timely manner and in full. I am asking to see to it that it is done in every Russian region," he said.
