Armenia to make every effort to sign peace agreement with Azerbaijan before yearend - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hopes to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan before the end of 2022.

"I want a peace agreement to be signed before the end of this year. How realistic is that? We will make every effort to make it real," Pashinyan said during a government Q&A session in the parliament on Wednesday.

Yerevan hopes that the work on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border will be completed before the agreement is signed.

"Bearing in mind that an agreement was reached in Prague that this process will take place based on the 1991 borders, it can be a reality. These borders are known. Dialogue needs to begin between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, which should be visible at the international level. It is a very important circumstance for protection of the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, there need to be visible mechanisms. I will be glad if we can do it. We are ready to make maximal efforts to make it happen," Pashinyan said.
