Yandex introduces own TV, first devices to go on sale on November 8

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Yandex has presented another of its own devices, specifically a smart TV with the built-in Alisa voice assistant, the Russian IT company said in a statement.

According to the company's statement, the first TVs will go on sale on November 8 at an as-yet-undisclosed cost, and the rest will go on sale in the first half of 2023.

The first consignment of TVs has been assembled in China, a Yandex representative told Interfax. "We are currently launching production in Russia, and we will switch to local assembly by the end of the year," the company said.

Total investments in production have not been disclosed. The TV will be available in two sizes of 43 inches and 50 inches.

Prior to presenting its own TV, Yandex had already developed Yandex TV, Smart TV with the built-in Alisa voice assistant.

According to the company's press release, the difference between the devices will be that the smart TV will recommend films and TV shows based on a user's preferences.
