Stellantis senior vice president for Eurasia resigns as head of Russian subsidiary

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Stellantis senior vice president for Eurasia Xavier Duchemin has stepped down as head of the auto company's Russian subsidiary - Peugeot Citroen Rus LLC, according to data for Russia's Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

Russian top manager and Managing Director of the Peugeot, Citroen and Opel brands Alexei Volodin has been appointed to run the subsidiary. The relevant changes were introduced into the register on October 20.

Duchemin became Stellantis senior vice president for Eurasia in February 2021. Prior to that, he held the post of managing director for sales and marketing at Opel Vauxhall, before that was in charge of PSA Group retail sales in Europe and served as Peugeot France managing director.

Stellantis is one of the world's largest auto makers, which was established in early 2021 by merging Italian-U.S. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA) and France's PSA Group.

Stellantis's main asset in Russia is the PCMA Rus plant in Kaluga's Rosva industrial park, which has been manufacturing automobiles with a complete production cycle since 2012. The plant is 70% owned by Stellantis and 30% by Mitsubishi. Production at the plant was suspended in April 2022. After the start of the military operation in Ukraine in late February, the company also halted vehicle imports to Russia as well as exports, from the country.

The plant produced Peugeot 408 and Citroen C4 cars, Peugeot, Opel and Citroen light commercial vehicles, as well as Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo and Opel Combo minivans and compact vans. Mitsubishi assembles Outlander and Pajero Sport SUVs at the plant.

As reported, investment in the plant totalled 550 million euros.
