Czech CEZ preparing lawsuit for arbitration against Gazprom - media

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Czech energy company CEZ is preparing to file a lawsuit against Gazprom in international arbitration, CEO Daniel Benes said.

According to Benes's statements on Czech TV, and as quoted by denik.cz, because of interruptions in supplies from Russia, CEZ has suffered damage in the amount of hundreds of millions to billions of Czech koruna.

Instead of extending the contract with the Russian company, CEZ is looking for other sources of gas supplies. In particular, the Czech Republic has been receiving gas since September from an LNG terminal in the Netherlands, where it has leased capacity for three billion cubic meters.
