Duma Budget Committee recommends that draft of Russia's three-year budget pass in first reading
MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The State Duma's Budget and Tax Committee recommended at a meeting on Monday that a draft of the Russian federal budget for 2023-2025 pass in the first reading.
Members of Russian Communist Party and A Just Russia - For Truth factions spoke against the budget adoption, while representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party and the New People faction said that the draft should be adopted in the first reading and adjusted for the second reading.
"United Russia has been working on the budget together with the government all this time, and we are continuing our work, we will be working for the second reading," Budget and Tax Committee Chairman, United Russia member Andrei Makarov said. He called for focusing on control over budget fulfillment.
