Russian-Iranian technological cooperation possible - Rostec head

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Russia's Rostec head Sergei Chemezov has declared the possibility of technological cooperation with Iran.

"Of course, this is possible. I am preparing to go there shortly," Chemezov said in an interview with the newspaper Izvestia, when asked whether Russia and Iran could develop technological cooperation.

"Russia has its own scenario, it is not Iranian. It is impossible to isolate a country with such resources, territory and borders. We have many partner states, with which we have long-standing good relations. By the way, Iran is one of them, and our cooperation has been successful. It is useful to study the Iranian experience, for instance, how they repair foreign-made planes under sanctions. Iran could also use some of our experience," Chemezov said.

Russia has long stopped using the dollar in settlements with foreign partners, he said.

"In general we have stopped settlements in dollars a long time ago. We are mostly using the yuan in our trade. We are also using Indian rupees, rubles and other currencies. We manage to maintain acceptable levels of profitability," Chemezov said.
