Delo Group mulling creation of logistics hub in UAE - Shishkarev

MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Delo Group is working on the possibility of creating a transportation hub in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to service Russian foreign trade logistics, Sergey Shishkarev, the chairman of Delo Group, told reporters on the sidelines of the Made in Russia forum.

"We want to build a hub in the United Arab Emirates. I met with the sheikh of Ras al-Khaimah (emirate, UAE) and talked to him directly. We are negotiating with the UAE authorities," he said.

According to him, the terminals he looked at in this emirate are still underutilized, and there is an opportunity to use their potential to build effective transport corridors with Russia.

Shishkarev sees as valuable the experience of the largest Arab port operators, such as DP World and Abu Dhabi Port Group, which were able to effectively use the geographical location of the UAE to build efficient global logistics chains, valuable.

Delo Group operates marine container terminals in the Azov-Black Sea, Baltic and Far East basins, a network of railway container terminals, as well as a fleet of containers and fitting platforms. Sergey Shishkarev, the founder of the holding, holds a 51% stake in it, with another 49% held by the Rosatom state corporation.
