Ukrenergo receives assistance from 5 European TSOs since late Feb

MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - The Ukrenergo national energy company of Ukraine has received assistance in the form of deliveries of equipment and materials from five European transmission system operators (TSOs) - Belgium's Elia, Poland's PSE, Italy's Terna and German Amprion and 50Hertz - since the end of February 2022, Ukrainian media outlets quoted the company as saying in a social media post.

The last batch of assistance and equipment was from Belgium's Elia.

"Belgian colleagues have provided new generators, insulators for overhead power lines, wire and couplings for their connection costing a total of several hundred thousand euros," Ukrenergo said.

The first such aid was received in March from the Polish system operator PSE, which provided Ukraine with transformer equipment, including from its own emergency stock, in late March, the company said.

"In addition, Polish colleagues ordered and paid for the production of 70 kilometers of wire specially for Ukrenergo, and our repair teams are already using it today," it said.

Ukrainian citizen Vitaly Krush, an employee of Amprion, one of Germany's largest transmission system operators, delivered two generators for Ukrenergo substations to the Ukrainian border in July.

"Equipment for the Ukrainian system operator has also been provided by another German operator 50Hertz, and by Italy's Terna. Various equipment is also expected to arrive from other TSOs and international partners," the company said.
