USDA raises estimate by 2.5 mln tonnes for Ukraine corn exports this agricultural year

MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has raised its forecast for corn exports from Ukraine in the 2022-2023 agricultural year, from July to June, by 2.5 million tonnes to 15.5 million tonnes, while maintaining the forecast for production at 31.5 million tonnes, the USDA said in the October report posted on its website.

The USDA has reduced its outlook for Ukraine's domestic corn consumption by two million tonnes to 9.5 million tonnes.

Meantime, the USDA has maintained its forecast for wheat production in Ukraine in the 2022-2023 agricultural year at 20.5 million tonnes, exports of the crop at 11 million tonnes, and domestic consumption at 5.5 million tonnes.

Moreover, the USDA has raised its forecast for exports of feed grain from Ukraine by 3.1 million tonnes to 17.93 million tonnes, while maintaining its forecast for production of the crop at 38.96 million tonnes.
