Russia, China to hold years of sports, fitness cooperation in 2022-2023

MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered 2022 and 2023 to become Years of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Sports and Fitness.

"For the purposes of the further development of Russian-Chinese relations and broader bilateral ties in the area of physical culture and sports, 2022 and 2023 shall be the Years of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Sports and Fitness," the president's order published on the website of legal information said.

According to the document, the Russian government is to approve the Russian side of the organizing committee.

The committee should approve a schedule of key events within a month, it said. The schedule should also include the an international festival of university sports in Yekaterinburg in 2023 in which university teams from BRICS, SCO and CIS member states will take part.
