Netherlands to allocate additional 70 mln euros in aid to Ukraine to prepare for winter

MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - The Netherlands will allocate an additional 70 million euros to Ukraine for repairing the country's utilities infrastructure ahead of the heating season, the Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Liesje Schreinemacher, said in a statement on social media.

"As winter approaches, the problems for Ukrainians are only intensifying. Houses, plumbing and heating systems are in urgent need of repair. I have told the World Bank that I am already allocating 70 million euros on behalf of the Netherlands specifically for this winter," Schreinemacher tweeted.

According to Ukraine's Finance Ministry, the Netherlands had previously committed to allocate 310 million euros to finance the country's budget deficit.
