Abbas says hoping for occasional supplies of Russian wheat to Palestine
ASTANA. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Palestine is counting on the occasional supplies of Russian wheat, Palestinian National Authority head Mahmoud Abbas said.
"We have a dire need for food. You know what is happening on the world stage. We were confident during our previous visit to Russia that the problem could be resolved," Abbas said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"This is a matter of the occasional supplies of Russian wheat to us. You are aware of our needs, and you know the format of this request. [...] This would add to our confidence that your country is positively disposed towards us and the settlement issues," Abbas said.
