SUEK expects coal shipments, output to fall in 2022 - CEO

MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - SUEK expects coal shipments and production to fall in 2022, the company's CEO, Maxim Basov, told reporters on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week 2022.

"There will be lower shipments and production for the year. Although almost all the reduction occurred at the beginning of the year. Now we are virtually working at full capacity, well, perhaps with the exception of one region," Basov said, when asked about production guidance for 2022.

SUEK raised coal production 1% in 2021 to 102.5 million tonnes. Sales abroad rose 1% to 54.4 million tonnes and sales in Russia 7% to 63 million tonnes.
