Massive strike on targets in Ukraine delivered at Russian Defense Ministry's proposal, according to General Staff's plan - Putin

MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Russia will give a harsh response to the possible continuation of terror attacks on its territory, proportionally to the level of threats, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"A massive strike by long-range air-, sea, and ground-launched precision-guided weapons was delivered this morning at the proposal of the Defense Ministry, in accordance with the plan of the Russian General Staff, at electric power and communication sites and military commands of Ukraine," Putin said at a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council.

"If the attempts to commit terror attacks on our territory continue, Russia will give a harsh response proportionate to the level of threats to the Russian Federation," he said.

"No one should have any doubts about that," Putin said.

Putin invited Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to deliver a report. "I am inviting the defense minister to report the results," he said.
