Rosselkhoznadzor permitting imports of produce from 3 Moldovan enterprises starting Oct 7

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has permitted supplies of fruit and vegetables from three enterprises in Moldova's Orhei district starting on October 7.

Rosselkhoznadzor made the decision to grant permission based on the results of talks held with Dinu Turcanu, head of the Orhei district, and an analysis of the phytosanitary situation in the district, it said. Three enterprises were chosen as a result, which had not previously been found to have objects subject to quarantine in their deliveries.

"Imports from these enterprises will be carried out under increased laboratory monitoring. If the phytosanitary safety of the produce imported from the Orhei distict is confirmed, Rosselkhoznadzor will consider the possibility of expanding the list of agricultural enterprises in the future," Rosselkhoznadzor said.

Temporary restrictions on the import of quarantinable produce from Moldova were introduced on August 15, 2022 following systemic detection of objects subject to quarantine in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the fruits and vegetables coming from 34 districts.
