Zelensky and USAID Administrator Power discuss Ukraine Rapid Recovery Plan

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power have discussed the implementation of the Rapid Recovery Plan for Ukraine, Ukraine's media said, citing the Ukrainian president's website.

"Today our main goal is to prepare for the winter and restore critical infrastructure as soon as possible," Zelensky said during the meeting with the USAID administrator.

Zelensky also presented Power with the Princess Olga Order, 1st degree, to mark her significant contribution to the development cooperation between the states and her consistent and important support for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president thanked the USAID administrator for the $55-million package provided by the agency to help Ukraine prepare its heat supply infrastructure ahead of winter. He also highly assessed the level of the economic and defense support being extended by the United States to Ukraine.

"It is extremely important for us to have such an ally as the U.S., which is a true leader in consolidating international support for Ukraine," Zelensky said.
