Ukrainian govt permits exporters to conduct grain fumigation abroad - ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has allowed exporters to carry out fumigation or disinfection of grain cargo outside Ukraine at Ukrainian legal entities accredited by the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection or at foreign companies.

The resolution adopted by the government will help unblock the movement of vessels carrying Ukrainian agricultural products under the Istanbul grain deal, Ukrainian media said, citing the website of Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

In accordance with the document, the National Bank of Ukraine will have to ensure the transfer of funds to enable grain exporting companies to pay for services related to fumigation and disinfection of grain outside Ukraine. The document also regulates the remuneration of commission agents for these operations.
