Tatneft developing tire project in Kazakhstan, equipment assembly, start-up and commissioning works underway

MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Tatneft is developing a joint project with Allur for the construction of a tire plant in Kazakhstan, with installation of equipment and preparation for start-up and commissioning works underway at the site, the press service for the Russian company said in a statement.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the project site and Tatneft CEO Nail Maganov told the head of the state about the progress of the project, the statement indicates.

As reported, the construction of a tire plant in Saran began in April 2021, with commissioning planned for the end of 2022, and full production capacity by 2025.

In May 2022, Tatneft entered into an agreement to sell its tire business in Russia to Kazan-based JSC Tatneftekhiminvest-holding. The perimeter of the deal included MC Tatneft-Neftekhim, Nizhnekamsk Truck Tire Plant, Trade House Kama, Nizhnekamskshina, Nizhnekamsk Mechanical Plant and Yarpolymermash-Tatneft. The press service for the company reported then that the KamaTyresKZ project for setting up tire production in Kazakhstan, implemented by Tatneft, was not included in the deal. However, later on June 20 Tatneft excluded KamaTyresKZ LLC from the list of affiliated entities for H1 2022.

The annual production capacity of Kama TyresKZ will be 3 million tires for passenger cars and 500,000 tires for commercial vehicles and buses. It is envisaged that at the second stage, the plant will begin producing rubber products, including transporters, conveyor belts, etc., and at the third stage - tires for agricultural machinery.
