Gazprom: All requests from Chisinau to now be formalized as addendums to contract

MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) - All requests from Moldova to postpone payments or change the terms of gas supplies will now be recorded as addendums to the contract, Gazprom said in a statement.

Moldovagaz has regularly violated the terms of the contract on the deadlines for making payments on gas supplied throughout 2022 and has requested changes to contractual obligations multiple times in terms of the volume of supplies, the statement said.

"Gazprom has always been understanding of Moldova's requests, confirming its determination for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, and has regularly accommodated these requests from Moldova. All requests from Moldova involving changes to the contract terms are to be formalized in the future only as relevant addendums to the contract," it said.

Gazprom "reserves all rights, including the right to fully cease supplies if the obligation to pay for gas by October 20, 2022 is not met, as well as the right to terminate the contract at any moment due to gross violation of the deadlines for concluding an agreement to settle JSC Moldovagaz's historical debt," the statement said.

Naftogaz of Ukraine is refusing to provide Gazprom with gas transport services in full, the statement said. Due to this, Gazprom only has the ability to supply Moldova with 5.7 million cubic meters of gas per day in October 2022.
