RGC, Gals Agro, Netherlands' STX plan to sell first Ukrainian bio-methane to Europe

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Regional Gas Company (RGC), the Ukrainian agricultural holding Gals Agro, and the Dutch company STX Commodities B.V. have signed a memorandum on cooperation in selling first Ukrainian bio-methane to Europe, Ukrainian media reported on Friday.

"The three companies have reached agreement on facilitating the sale of bio-methane through a so-called virtual trading point. This would make it possible to sell to Europe gas physically delivered to Ukraine's gas distribution networks," RGC said.

All the necessary documents are being prepared and procedures carried out to conduct first transactions on the European market, it said.

As reported earlier, RGC had started connecting Gals Agro's production facilities to gas distribution networks in the Chernihiv region.

"This company will become the first bio-methane plant in Ukraine connected to gas networks, and its bio-methane will be sold to Europe. Apart from the Chernihiv project, RGC will also connect the second bio-methane plant in the Vinnytsia region to gas distribution networks," it said.
