Russian gov't allocates 2 bln rubles for R&D of LNG equipment, 4 bln rubles for chemical products

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - The Russian government will finance research and development work (R&D) on creation of domestic equipment for gas liquefaction as well as production of various goods and products based on chemical technologies.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed the relevant resolution allocating 6 billion rubles for these purposes, the government press service said.

Subsidies from NWF will be given to Russian companies implementing such developments. This will include 2 billion rubles to be allocated for creation of prototypes of equipment for production of medium and large batches of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and 4 billion - for development of technologies for manufacturing of chemical products.

Among the LNG equipment to be developed and tested by Russian manufacturers are an electric drive feed gas booster compressor, carbon and stainless steel pipeline parts, high capacity technological centrifugal pumps and other devices.

A total of 11 such projects will be launched in 2022. In the future this will make it possible to increase LNG production volumes. According to plans, by 2035 the figures should grow to 80-140 million tonnes per year.

Besides, in 2022, 30 projects on production of products based on modern chemical technologies will be launched using federal financing. This includes artificial inulin and heat-resistant textile fibers. The country will also establish production of higher fatty alcohols, lactic acid, lysine, citric acid, amino acids and other chemical products. These substances, which are widely demanded by various industries, are currently purchased abroad.

Federal funds will be used to create car tires with a metal cord carcass. They will allow for better vehicle handling and reduced fuel consumption.

On the whole, the 6 billion rubles allocated will be used to launch production sales volume of which will be at least 12 billion rubles.

The work will be carried out within the framework of the federal project "Facilitation of research and development work in civilian industries".
