Russia registers 37,286 new cases of Covid-19, 106 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 37,286 new cases of Covid-19 and 106 deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"Russia has recorded 37,286 new cases of Covid-19 and 2,723 people have been hospitalized over the day, down 13.7% from the day before," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 24 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 55, and has remained unchanged in six, it said.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 1,453 cases from 38,739 reported on Thursday. The morbidity level is similar to that of March 15-20, when Russia saw fewer than 40,000 infections per day.

The Covid-19 mortality has been much lower in September compared to March, when over 400-600 patients were dying from Covid-19 daily, as against 106 in the past 24 hours and 109 the day before.

"Another 61,225 patients have recovered over the day, up 5.7% from September 29," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has registered a total of 20,989,825 cases of Covid-19, including 387,269 deaths and 20,040,988 recoveries.
