Goznak, major Russian businessmen added to UK sanctions list

MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom has announced a new sanctions package against Russia.

Among others, JSC Goznak has been added to the list, according to a statement on the UK government website.

Several major Russian businessmen have also been added to the sanctions list, including Iskander Makhmudov, who along with Andrei Bokarev, sanctioned in April, was a controlling beneficiary of Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company and Kuzbassrazrezugol until March of this year, commercial real estate business partners God Nisanov and Zarakh Iliev, and Igor Makarov, who previously owned Areti and then created Areti International after selling the former.

As members of the governing bodies of Sberbank , Gazprombank , and Sovcombank, the sanctions list includes a whole group of well-known names on the Russian market, including Kurchatov Institute President Mikhail Kovalchuk, former Sberbank management board member Bella Zlatkis, Gazprom Deputy CEO Famil Sadygov, and others.
