Imports to Russia begin recovering in Q3, first and foremost consumer imports - Reshetnikov

MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Imports to Russia began to recover in Q3, mainly due to gains in consumer imports, with investment imports set to pick up in 2023, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov, speaking in the State Duma at a meeting of Economic Policy and Control Committees.

"In the third quarter, imports began to recover, of course, first and foremost there was a recovering in consumer imports. We expect a recovery in intermediate and investment imports next year," he said.

In particular, "parallel import have worked well," Reshetnikov said, with more than 1.3 million tons of goods worth more than $9 billion already imported. "This helps to support consumer demand, especially in the market of non-food products," the minister said.
