Vladimir Klimanov elected chairman of Detsky Mir board

MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - The board of directors of Detsky Mir , Russia's largest children's goods retailer, has elected Vladimir Klimanov as chairman, the company said.

Klimanov, the investment director at Veta Capital Partners LLC, was elected to Detsky Mir's board in March 2021.

The retailer's former board chairman, Maria Gordon left the board earlier this month. Gordon previously served as executive vice president and head of emerging market equities investment strategy at Pacific Investment Management Co., prior to which she worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Tony Mayer, the former chairman of baby food producer Progress and former head of dairy product maker Wimm-Bill-Dann and retailer O'Key , also left Detsky Mir's board in September.

Their departure left eight directors on Detsky Mir's board. In addition to Klimanov, they are company CEO Maria Davydova and commercial director Maria Volodina; company beneficiaries Pavel Grachev, Mikhail Stiskin and Dmitry Klenov; Andrei Anischenko, an entrepreneur and investor in digital education services and marketing; and Alexander Shevchuk, executive director of the Association of Professional Investors.
