Ukraine may receive 5 bln euros of macro-financial aid from EU in mid-October - von der Leyen

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - The European Union may disburse five billion euros of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in mid-October, Ukrainian media said, citing European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

"We have been discussing of course the budget support, the so-called macro-financial assistance. I am very glad that today the European Parliament now has voted positively on the 5 billion [euro] loans. And we are working on the rest of macro-financial assistance. The 5 billion [euros] can be disbursed in the first tranche mid-October," von der Leyen said at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Thursday.
