Yandex testing taxi hailing service in UAE

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Yango, the international brand of Russian taxi hailing service Yandex.Taxi, has launched on a trial basis in the United Arab Emirates, the company told Interfax.

"Yandex is developing world-class technologies and services and is constantly experimenting with them on international markets. Testing of taxis in Dubai on a pilot basis is no exception," a spokesman for Yandex Go said.

The company is developing the Yango brand in many countries in Africa, Latin America, Europe and other parts of the world. In addition to taxi hailing, Yango includes logistics services, scooter rentals and grocery delivery services.

Russian Internet company Yandex already has a presence on the UAE market. The company launched a grocery delivery service from Carrefour supermarkets in Dubai with its robot couriers in 2022.
