No unresolved issues in relations between Uzbekistan, Russia - Uzbek president

TASHKENT. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said following a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Samarkand on Thursday that he was pleased with the high results of interaction with Russia and that the parties have no unresolved issues.

"I am greatly pleased with the high results achieved in recent years in active close cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres," Mirziyoyev said.

At the same time, he highlighted the great merit of the Russian president in the achieved results.

The talks showed that "we have no unresolved issues and problems," Mirziyoyev said.

"We have made progress in all areas. We intend to continue to step up the positive momentum, multiply the overall successes and move toward new horizons," Mirziyoyev said.

A package of new investment agreements worth $4.6 billion in machine-building, chemistry, petrochemicals and geology is being signed during the Russian president's visit to Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev's press service said.

"The parties agreed to set up joint industrial parks in Uzbek regions and hold the next Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia in October of this year," the statement said.

The two presidents exchanged views on issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda, the press service added.
