Over 3 mln tonnes of Ukrainian foodstuffs exported under Istanbul grain deal - UN
NEW YORK, UN. Sept 15 (Interfax) - The Joint Coordination Center has authorized the movement of nearly 300 vessels to date under the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the United Nations said.
"As of 14 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 3,060,110 metric tonnes. A total of 297 voyages (161 inbound and 136 outbound) have been enabled so far," the UN said.
Meanwhile, another nine vessels carrying agricultural products are expected to depart from Ukrainian ports on September 15.
According to the UN, the Astra Centaurus will head to Spain with 55,000 tonnes of wheat on board, the Norah will deliver 30,000 tonnes of rapeseed to Belgium, and the Valerio will deliver 26,000 tonnes of corn to Turkey. The Derg bulker will head to the Netherlands with 9,600 tonnes of sunflower oil aboard, and the Maher will sail to Tunisia will 7,800 tonnes of wheat aboard.
The Octopus vessel will deliver 6,500 tonnes of corn to Romania, and the Lara S 5,750 tonnes of sunflower oil to Italy.
The Eider S bulker (50,855 tonnes of corn) and the Kan 2 (11,000 tonnes of corn and 2,982 tonnes of barley), which earlier postponed their departures from Ukrainian ports, are expected to set off to Spain and Libya, respectively, on Thursday.
