Yandex Eats begins operating in test mode in Armenia

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Yandex Eats has launched operations in test mode in Armenia, the internet company said in a statement.

The service will operate under the Yandex Eats brand.

The food delivery service operates from restaurants in Belarus and Kazakhstan in addition to Russia.

The company clarifies that users of the service in Armenia can also order delivery from stores in addition to restaurants, and there are plans later to add the possibility of ordering over-the-counter drugs from pharmacies.

"Thanks to closing the deal to purchase Delivery Club, we are able to allocate more resources to localizing the service, which is necessary for launching in new countries. Hundreds of engineers will work on the product," Roman Maresov, head of Yandex Eats, said in the statement.

Users can download the Yandex Eats app, as well as place orders through Yandex Go, a company representative explained to Interfax.

Yandex is already developing services in Armenia, and Yandex Taxi has been operating there since 2016.
