Russia registers 44,045 new cases of Covid-19, 101 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 44,045 new cases of Covid-19, or 2,433 cases fewer than on Monday, and 101 deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Russia has recorded 44,045 new cases of Covid-19 and 4,663 patients have been hospitalized, up 152.3% from the day before," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 79 Russia constituent territories and has decreased in six, it said. Russia recorded 1,848 hospitalizations of Covid-19 patients the day before.

Daily morbidity has decreased by 2,443 cases from 46,488 reported on Monday. The morbidity level is now similar to that of March 13-14, when Russia saw over 40,000 infections a day, while the morbidity curve was on decline.

The daily rate of hospitalizations is approximately the same as in March, when morbidity levels were similar.

Covid-19 mortality has been much lower in September than in March, when over 500-600 deaths from Covid-19 were reported daily, versus 101 in the past 24 hours and 81 the day before.

"Another 48,187 patients have recovered over the past day, up 35.1% from September 12," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 20,157,143 cases of Covid-19, including 385,530 deaths and 19,144,853 recoveries.
