Ukraine and Poland to open additional border crossing for outbound empty trucks

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian and Polish border guards and customs authorities have reached an agreement on opening the Ustyluh-Zosin crossing point to enable the passage of outbound transport vehicles that are not carrying any cargo, Ukrainian media quoted Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayyem as saying.

"Ustyluh-Zosin is the border crossing that is closest to the Yahodyn-Dorohusk crossing. Permitting empty transport vehicles to exit via Ustyluh should help reduce the queues in Yahodyn," Nayyem said on social media.

The opening of this additional border crossing has become the first step toward sorting out the crisis on the Polish border, he said.

Putting the new border crossing into operation will put an end to the blocking of crossing points on the Polish side of the border and will help make the work of Poland's phytosanitary and veterinary services more efficient, he said.
